A note on Football

This isn't strictly related to Spike's speech, but it's a thorn in my bloody side, so allow me a moment of righteous anger. This, I cannot forgive:

Spike supports Manchester United. I cannot count the ways in which this is wrong. Ten year old boys in India support Man U. Middle aged women who fancy Beckham support Man U. Sheeplike tossers in Ben Sherman shirts —the sort that, when seen en masse look like a packet of Refreshers — support Man U. Man U is a glossy corporate monster of a team.

Spike is an underdog. What's he doing supporting the football equivalent of Wolfram and Hart? He should be a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

I can only assume Joss picked this team because he knew the American audience would've heard of them. Shame on you Joss.
